Kari Ruth is a financial planner with Skylight Financial Group who specializes in serving business owners, women-led enterprises, and members of the LGBTQ+ community. She brings more than two decades of experience in relationship-centered work, beginning with a 20-year career as a hairstylist, where she built deep, long-lasting relationships with hundreds of clients. She later expanded her work into the beauty and professional tools industry, becoming a top-performing educator and sales leader with Hattori Hanzo Shears. Her background uniquely positions her to understand the financial needs, pressures, and opportunities facing independent professionals and entrepreneurs who strive to build success on their own terms.
After earning her Series 7 and Series 66 licenses, along with her Life & Health credentials, Kari joined Skylight with a mission to provide clear, grounded financial planning that supports people balancing demanding careers, personal goals, and family needs. She collaborates with senior advisors across the firm to deliver practical strategies and comprehensive guidance that clients can understand and trust.
Kari lives in Loveland, Ohio, and is active in her local community. She mentors young female professionals and partners with area nonprofits focused on food security and financial wellness for women and families rebuilding stability after difficult circumstances. Outside of work, she enjoys pickleball, cycling, weightlifting, and traveling whenever she can.
