Raymond Fisher

Financial Professional

Ray Fisher recently joined the Skylight Financial Group after retiring from the U.S. Navy after 16 years. Ray served as an engineer, a firefighter, a welder/fabricator and lastly, was responsible for launching Tomahawk missiles when ordered.  In addition, Ray was the Command Financial Specialist, stood watch as the Anti-Terrorism Tactical Watch Officer and was also an Anti-Terrorism Training Supervisor; the first two positions were normally held by higher ranking members of the Navy.  Holding a Top Secret/SCI clearance during his time in the Navy, Ray has been meticulously vetted.  Ray also has a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of Toledo. Ray demonstrates discipline, strategy, planning security and execution – all attributes that he implements to help his clients pursue success.  Ray is well versed in finances and insurance.

“I’ve always loved talking finances and educating fellow sailors, it is the reason I decided to join the Skylight Financial Group – I believe in their mission of helping people succeed financially. In the Navy, I was a member of many training teams. I became a certified Navy Instructor and the Command Financial Specialist.  Assisting sailors with their financial futures and educating them about the risks of excessive debt; this included ensuring that their Thrift Savings Plan (401k) was properly set up for their age group. Like many active members of the military, I have experienced the challenges of trying to save while being on a tight budget. I know the stress it places on individuals, and I want to help my clients reduce their stress using my experience.”

Outside of work, Ray enjoys spending time with his two boys and little girl.  Ray spends his summer with the kids in their pool, the boys on their ATV’s or dirt bikes and when he gets “me time”, he goes for a ride on his Harley.  The family enjoys their dogs, two European Rottweilers and a German Shephard. Due to his passion for dogs, he sometimes shares time with his friends rescue dogs also.  Ray volunteers with the Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 9656, where he holds the position of Quartermaster (treasurer) as well as the Charter President of the VFW Riders Group.
