Skylight

July 22, 2016

Keven Prather, financial planner and Certified Family Business Specialist (CFBS) at Skylight Financial Group, has been invited to be a panelist in this year’s Crain’s Annual Family Business Forum which will take place on Wednesday, August 3, 2016.  The Forum will convene 200+ business owners to discuss the unique challenges they face.

Prather, who holds a certificate on Business Transition Planning from the American College and is the Managing Partner of Skylight’s Business Private Client Group, will participate in the panel discussing Successional Planning for Current Generation Owners.  Topics covered will include how to best manage fractious family interpersonal issues, how to plan ahead for the future transition or exit of your business and how to cultivate leadership skills.

“I’m really looking forward to being a panelist and discussing what we can do to improve the outcome of succession planning for current generation owners. Too often, it’s not organizational issues which are at fault when it comes to family businesses falling apart during the transition but rather it’s due to lack of communication, trust or family disagreements. We will discuss these issues and what more can be done to prepare in advance for the successful succession of family businesses,” said Prather.

The Forum will take place at the Cleveland Metroparks, Stillwater Place.
