The Skylight Showcase: New Hires of July and August 2023

We work together, celebrate together, serve our clients together - and we welcome together. In July and August, we were excited to welcome Ray Fisher, David Branham, and Jordan Braun to our team.

Ray Fisher
Financial Professional | Toledo

Where are you from?
East Grand Rapids, MI

Why did you choose to work at Skylight Financial Group?
Having been in commission-based sales before, I love that Skylight allows for an ongoing relationship with our clients. It is not just one sale and done.

What causes or community services do you have a passion for?
I volunteer a lot of my time with the Veteran of Foreign Wars. I am presently the Quartermaster of Post 9656 and the President of the VFW Riders Group as well.

What is something that surprises most people about you?
I retired at 36.

Outside of the office, what do you enjoy doing?
I love spending time with my kids, my dogs and my Harley.

Where is one of your favorite places to travel and why?
Italy. It is absolutely beautiful on the coast, the temperature is perfect, the limoncello is homemade, and you can get Cuban cigars.

David Branham
Sales Director and Financial Professional | Cleveland

Where are you from?
Madison, OH

Why did you choose to work at Skylight Financial Group?
For the resources, support, and opportunity to take my career to the next level.

What causes or community services do you have a passion for?
Giving back to my community through volunteer work.

Outside of the office, what do you enjoy doing?
Spending time with my beautiful wife Amber and our 5 children - Daphne, Lola, Clark, Abbey, and Liam.

Any big plans coming up?
We just bought a new home, so we plan to do some renovations and really making it our own.

What is something about you that surprises most people?
I play many musical instruments (guitar, bass, drums, etc.).

Jordan Braun
Financial Advisor | Toledo

Where are you from?
Born, raised and currently living in Napoleon, OH.

Why did you choose to work at Skylight Financial Group?
I chose to work at Skylight because of the flexibility and autonomy they give their advisors. With this mentality, we, as advisors, can concentrate on our clients and truly serve their best interests.

What causes or community services do you have a passion for?
My faith in Jesus is number one. With that, I am a passionate Sunday School teacher to our Senior High Youth as well as a member of our church board. I have also served our greater community in the last three years through the United Way of Henry County. I am currently on the general board, executive committee and incoming board president.

What life achievement are you most proud of?
I'm proud to say I've run in and completed a full marathon. I might have destroyed my legs in the process, but at least I finished.

Outside of the office, what do you enjoy doing?
I am a professional photographer. My wife and I started our own business four years ago and it has grown each year. We sell nature photos online and at our local coffee shop as well as family, seniors, sports and event sessions.

Who is your role model? What do you admire about them?
Robin Williams. I just feel he would have a lot more insight on life than any of us could ever imagine. Not to mention, did you ever hear him tell a story?
