Alex Black, Financial Advisor, Toledo
Where are you from?
I am from Gibsonburg, OH, but I lived in Virginia Beach, VA for four years as my wife was in the Navy, and then three years in Columbus, OH as a pit stop before we made it back.
What causes or community services do you have a passion for?
I have helped with First Tee, Meals on Wheels in Wood county, and now on the University of Toledo COBI Alumni board to help with initiatives for students and alumni.
What is something about you that surprises most people?
There was a movie made about my high school baseball team that features my name (Gibsonburg). It was a movie that already had a screen write that the director put our baseball story into. It’s pretty neat that Lilly Reinhart, a leading actress in Riverdale, starred in the movie when she was in college.
If you could share a beer with any person throughout history, who would it be and why?
I would love to share a beer with Warren Buffet. I would love to pick his brain on the market, how he evaluates companies, and how he has really gotten to where he is now. I would also love to share a beer with Arnold Palmer and chat about golf.
If you could snap your fingers and become an expert in something, what would it be?
Parenting. It would make raising my kids hopefully easier; darn little people can sure make it like a tornado through our lives sometimes.

Where are you from?
I am from Massillon Jackson, OH, but I grew up in Thompson in Geauga County.
Why did you choose to work at Skylight?
Frankly, it was a very compelling opportunity, and with my wife (Taylor Russell/Weinland) as the operations assistant here, it was an easy decision.
Outside of the office, what do you enjoy doing?
I really enjoy hiking, camping, and skeet/3gun competitions.
Which celebrity would you choose to play you in the movie about your life?
Absolutely Ryan Reynolds. Not a second question. Anyone else would be an insult.
If you could share a beer with any person throughout history, who would it be and why?
Julius Caesar, I would love to pick his brain on the battle Alesia.
What was your first job ever? What did you like/dislike about it?
I was the head lifeguard in charge of a beach and some pools. It was a lot of fun, but the frequency of saves made it very stressful.
Nick Hitti, Junior Investment Specialist, Cincinnati
Where are you from?
I am originally from outside of Boston, MA, but I have lived in England, Philadelphia, and Austin, TX, in addition to Cincinnati, OH.
Why did you choose to work at Skylight?
I am excited about my role and responsibilities as a junior investment specialist. My favorite part of work is researching financial markets, seeking to develop strategies for appropriate future investments, and helping others achieve their financial goals.
What life achievement are you most proud of?
Most recently, achieving the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation is something I am most proud of. It took a lot of sacrifices and over one thousand hours of studying over three years.
Outside of the office, what do you enjoy doing?
I love to travel. My favorite trips are out west to go skiing and hiking, or someplace warm in the winter! When I am at home, I am an avid CrossFitter and will frequently do competitions!
Where is one of your favorite places to travel to, and why?
My family has a place at the Jersey Shore that I would spend summers at growing up. It is great to go back to a place where I have so many happy memories and am around family.
