A Night to Remember

On September 11, our Toledo office was filled with laughter, music, and heartfelt moments as we came together for A Night to Remember. Hosted by advisors Angie Barney, David Bodner, David Clarke, Bruce DeBoer, Bob Ruff, Brett Seymour, Marc Seymour, Angie Wingerd, Kristopher Wingerd, Rich Wurst, and their teams, the night was all about slowing down, connecting, and honoring the lives lost on 9/11.
Guests were welcomed with the sounds of Engine 19 playing in the background while they enjoyed mouthwatering bites from Farm to Table BBQ, sweet treats and hand dipped ice cream from Emmy’s Kitchen, and local craft beer from Ladder 419. Right from the start, the evening had an easygoing, neighborly feel.
One of the most meaningful moments of the night came when the Sylvania Township Fire Department led everyone in a moment of silence and shared the Fireman’s Prayer. The crowd grew quiet as candles flickered and glasses were set down. It was a moment of collective reflection that grounded the entire evening.
Reflecting on the purpose behind the evening, Angie Wingerd shared, “September 11 is a day of remembrance, and we wanted to honor the courage and sacrifice of first responders while bringing our community together. Engine 19, an incredible band of retired firefighters, brought such heartfelt energy to the night. We were honored to welcome the Sylvania Township Fire Department and show our gratitude to them and to all first responders while sharing a meaningful evening with our wonderful clients.”
To make the night even more personal, guests were invited to create their own floral centerpieces when they arrived. Each table was decorated with fresh flowers that guests later took home as a keepsake, a small reminder of the beauty of coming together.
As the music picked back up and conversations carried on, it was clear this wasn’t just an event. It was a reminder of how important community, resilience, and relationships really are.
Financial Planner Marc Seymour added, “My hope for the evening was that we could spend some quality time with clients in a friendly environment. We wanted to honor the special date that 9/11 is for most Americans. A reminder for all of us that we are better off together in community and we feel blessed to share it with our clients.”
We are so grateful to our Toledo advisors and their teams for creating such a thoughtful and unforgettable night. A Night to Remember truly lived up to its name!
